Never Knot Crafts

Spring of 2020, Covid-19 had just started its first wave through the United States and I sat in my parents living room watching my name scroll by on our TV screen en lieu of walking across the stage and getting my handshake and diploma. As I was stuck in my house for the next year, figuring out my life and my next steps, I decided to start an Etsy Business like every other crafter out there. I called it “Never Knot Crafts.”

It is important to note that I will most likely never open an Etsy store like had in the past because I learned some very important things about myself:

  1. I don’t like creating the same thing 20 times. I LOVE variety and get the joy from the process, not production.
  2. I do like creating a “brand” but I am not as good at it as I imagine I am. I like too many things and they are all too different from each other. When creating the Etsy business in 2020, that was not the direction that was going to get me the views or sales I was looking for. I had to tailor my brand to a specific image.
  3. I got busy – and the “get to” of setting up my shop, creating, and exploring new crafting ideas, became a “have to.”

I might get to the point in time where I will create something similar – I might open my Etsy business back up, I might create some patterns and shoot them off to Ravelry, or just use this site to give joy and my favorite tips and tricks on the various crafts that I do.

I want to be kind to myself and to enjoy the process more. I am going to make this my “get to” again and hopefully share some of the things that inspire me to anyone who wishes to read it.
