Chorus
Watch and listen.
Follow the rules that are written for you and those who lead you.
They guide the care for the righteous, religious, and reformed.
Opinionated by the voice your rulers,
Decisions are made that affects the validity and weight they hold.
Those of you who discern and speak truth,
Keep their ideas displayed before them,
at the feet of their leader.
You work to comprehend the truth set before your eyes
And follow those who have vision similar.
Those of you who follow your leader and are blinded by love,
Work hard to figure out who to follow and discern the leader’s truth.
You put your faith and trust into your leader implicitly.
You think the best of them and believe they are divine.
Blinded by a truth built upon lies, your view is distorted
as reality shatters before you.
Those of you who explain and prepare-
Talking, mingling, making sense of the puzzle in front of you.
You give the audience a voice and clarity.
You choose to side with a leader,
Only to change direction when the facts before you show a damaged soul.
Those of you who fight to find justice,
Find their King convicted of treachery.
You send them away to a far away land,
weeping with your fellow brethren and fallen Queen.
Grieve and now rejoice!
Place the queen in her tomb, your new king alongside of you.
You feel deceived by Oedipus and no longer cherish the idea of him.
No pity we feel for the broken man,
But for the daughters who he were left behind.
Watch and listen,
Tell the play from a new view.
Misled, misjudged.
Follow the leader like sheep to a shepard.
Hoping for one that is good and just.
